The Black Women vs weave controversy AND THE BLACK MALE PERSPECTIVE
There appears to be a lot of controversy over appearance over image and hair, and in particular black women’s hair.. the heart of the controversy seems to be fixated around an ambiguous notion that black women whom of which have some of the most versatile mysteriously beautiful alluring creative vivacious in the most eccentric hair types in the world are now being attacked berated and ridiculed for their choice to incorporate weave, extensions, as well as other alternatives into their hairstyle regimen.
: And then on the other hand you have people telling them that their hair in all of its natural glorious Beauty, their very natural curly, kinky, wool-like Afro-textured hair in all of its beautiful splendor and pulchritude it’s not good enough and that there should be something done about it because it’s a disgrace or that we live in a society that won’t accept them in society especially the workplace because they don’t look like what is considered professional and acceptable by Eurocentric ideas and Concepts., Tuesday, September 10, 2019, 4:24 PM.
And then on the other hand you have people telling them that their hair in all of its natural glorious Beauty, their very natural curly, kinky, wool-like Afro-textured hair in all of its beautiful splendor and pulchritude it’s not good enough and that there should be something done about it because it’s a disgrace or that we live in a society that won’t accept them in society especially the workplace because they don’t look like what is considered professional and acceptable by Eurocentric ideas and Concepts.
Well now these same black women are having a problem and it has nothing to do with the white persuasion any longer as that might be something that could very well be digested, and that maybe we could expect that from the workplace and so forth.. but no longer are we talking about the workplace.. no, you see.. what we are talking about is the new Concepts and the new ideas of the black male perspective and his very distinct unpleasant and ominous disdain concerning the way in which the black woman is allegedly now wearing her hair and his belief that this might be due to certain Eurocentric social engineering tactics that seemed to imprint influence her into dislike her natural attributes.
This apparently very myopic Viewpoint is enough for many black women to finally say to black men, find something else to talk about, and keep our hair out of your mouth! ?? ..
LIL DUVAL: COMEDIAN
He says he hates, wigs, weaves, and frontal, however yet, he further comments that he hates the natural texture of hair that comes from black persons of colors hair .. ?? Like huh? what ?? This is utter foolishness and makes no sense unless you are just going to say outwardly you simply have nothing but disdain for the black woman and her hair regardless of what she does you are not pleased with her ! he is quoted as having written this…
I hate the big curly bushy hair look. I’m not saying stop wearing it ladies, I personally just don’t like it. I like every other style that was especially the straight hair look. But that big Afro Lions stuff no can do ” yet this is the same guy that pokes fun on the regular at black women of color wearing frontal .. as it has absolutely become some men’s new religion to jump on this new pandemic circumference the styles in which black women choose to wear for various reasons .. for this guy, in particular, this is like a routine for him.
WE TOO MUST REMEMBER
Just because a person expresses their disdain or aversions Express antipathy against weaves or wigs or lace hair does not necessarily mean that they actually like the natural texture of Afrocentric hair.
WE DO NOT KNOW THE WHOLE STORY
You never know what level someone is on within the scope of their hair journey, they could be recovering from cancer, alopecia, or might have done a great chop and are wanting to start growing their natural hair after coming to the realization that it is beautiful hair .. we do not know the reasons oftentimes for a woman’s decision to put weave are extensions in her hair or wear wigs, however, it is often, especially when it comes to the black woman considered a travesty as if she is somehow loathing her natural beauty and this though it might just be the case in some areas, is not always the case in every situation ..
NATURAL HAIR MOVEMENT
There has recently been an overwhelming response from black men on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc .. about black women wearing weaves extensions, etc, usually, in the form of cracking jokes, poking fun, of especially girls with frontals, wigs weave, etc .. however the natural hair movement if enormous now… I have been to AZ, FL, PA, TX, CA, LA, SC, NC, NY, even overseas and you will see ethnic women of color with Afrocentric hair in large numbers wearing their natural hair.
Even Afro Latina’s, with Afro-textured hair, is wearing their own natural hair.. so if we are seeing this epidemic, this movement thriving in which women are seemingly wearing their Own natural locks of the Afrocentric grouping why then is it such an obsession with men that they are still talking about this phenomena? Because quite simply there are enough women out there that are natural that this does not have to be a big discussion as you can simply just choose a woman who is wearing her natural hair if you are indeed offended.
Like I could not see myself going to an event where black beautiful women of color are wearing their natural gorgeous adorable and alluring hair and complain about the select few that might have chosen to wear weave on that particular day for reasons that I could not know at that time.. it simply does not make any sense my bruddah .. with so much variety, I would Only choose to focus on the one thing that I am not aligned with ..? and why? And for what purpose ..? Like what productivity is coming out of this ??
ARE THEY PRACTICING WHAT THEY CLAIM TO LOATHE
It has been m,y exclusive experience that I have seen black men of color, a lot of the same ones that oppose, or Claim to oppose this thing of weaves, or straightened hair, or wigs and the like, be some of the very same men that appear to be attracted to it .. as the vast majority of black persons of colors hair is going to be either kinky, curly, wavy, Afro-textured or a mixture of all of these elements.
Yet I will see the same men that berate and disapprove as well as express their distaste for women not wearing their natural hair, or wearing weaves and the like are the very ones I see either dating outside of their race and or choosing women that do not reflect what would advocate their argument .. ?? which might persuade another argument as to if this also is the only thing you are claiming to see, could it be.
This, as it appears to be proven time and again if it is the only thing you are claiming to see while I along with many others are seeing a direct polar opposite, might this be what you are attracted to claiming the not to be.. ??
You quickly tell them how you detest and abhor this hair yet you end up with women whose hair is of the texture of the weave and lace fronts you claim to abhor. This sends a direct message to the Afrocentric vivaciously women of color that is quite perplexing and frustrating.
As it indicates and signifies one thing while executing something totally different .. at some point on social media you can even hear and see allegedly Straight Black Men conversing more about weave, wigs, and lace front more so than the women and gay men that actually wear it .. ?? hmmm strange much .. ?? It has to be because they are practicing what they claim to despise.
WEAR IT LIKE THIS OR THAT
Style and texture are 2 completely different things and a lot of people do not understand their own blackness .. black people’s hair no matter what style you put it in is naturally bushy. It is crazy because it is about you becoming educated and knowing about your genetic makeup and the reasons why you were created the way in which you are.
Sometimes all women get just bored with their hair and want to try something new. look at all of the crazy hairstyles men have worn and continue to wear yet even the women do not make such a big deal over this.
The policing of black person hair altogether has to begin .. would we want any loved one going through this kind of ridiculous rhetoric because of hair. It is indeed us who perpetuate notions that further divide us as a whole .. indeed it is us.
